Passing by Eliza J. Bailey
For
sn100 challenge #18: a new year.
"It's like poems from the Provincial Hotel," Casey says over his fourth beer.
Dana snorts a half amused, half confused laugh. "That doesn't make any sense, Casey."
"No, the second half of the Philadelphia/Clippers game last night didn't make any sense. So stands the world of improbability."
Dana shakes her head and swirls her drink in her glass as she watches him signal Jack for another beer. Once upon a time she could read Casey like a book. Now the new world order has come to pass and somewhere along the line she missed the boat completely.
