I've woken up with a blinding headache. All I want to do at the moment is sit in a darkened room with aspirin and a glass of water within easy reach. But I must stir myself into action. I had plans to go to gym and shop for jeans. Not to mention the going out thing I am supposed to do tonight.

It appears fate was working against me today. I made it to gym, but when I got there at 1.20 I found out they were closing 2. Fine, I thought, I'll do cardio for 40 minutes. Better than nothing, right? Only the ladies change rooms were closed for some unknown reason and I really couldn't be bothered after that.

So I walk up to Smith St and get the tram to Northcote Plaza where I was going to buy new jeans. However thanks to the post-christmas sales, everything in my size or that looked vaguely decent was gone. Okay, whatever. I didn't really need them anyway.

I proceede to wander around for another hour or so, looking at stuff and resisting new shoes. The health food shop was having a sale so I got a 15% discount on my moisturiser and night cream, and I got an enormous and badly needed cake cooler for $7.00 at Kmart.

I end up back at Station St, buy my cake and eat it, purchase a new mascara and a bottle of pink fizz, run into one of my neighbours, and make my way home, all the while feeling that, although it wasn't a bad day, somehow it could have been better.
