I braved the city today to look for a South Park calendar to give to A for his birthday tomorrow. Unfortunately I had no luck finding said calendar so I bought the Sponge Bob calendar instead. Tell me, is that an appropriate gift for a quirky guy who's turning 33?
During my wanderings I also unsuccessfully shopped for a new cutlery set and a good handbag for work. I saw some nice things, but they were either not quite what I wanted or way more expensive than I can afford, even on layby. To console myself I bought new bras. A black t-shirt bra and a red balconette. I'm liking the smooth lines of the t-shirt bra, but think I'll take the balconette back. I didn't try it on until I got home and it's oaky, but not quite right. I think that's my motto for the year. Get what I really want and not settle for close but not quite right. I'm over settling for not quite right and I's rather not have something that settle for something less.
But I'm back to work tomorrow which is actually a bit of a relief. I've done nothing but sit around on my arse and spend money the last couple of weeks, and work will force me to not shop, eat a decent breakfast and get up at a reasonable hour. I might even go to gym. What a concept!
