I finally got the livejournal friends collage thingie to work for me.

Yet another day when I seem to have achieved very little. It's becoming a bit of a pattern, this. It's not like I haven't got stuff to do, and I am doing it, I just never seem to get any where.

Actually I've spent a lot of today organising my boss' going away party. After about eight weeks of, 'Yes, I'm going, I'm just waiting for an official letter from my new job' he finally got the letter this week and he finishes next Friday. Gah, that's two departures from my department this month. The deputy boss finished last week, the boss boss leaves next Friday, and I'm putting in applications for anything I seem vaguely qualified for. Add the fact that our department head took early retirement last year, at the rate we're going it'll get to the point where there's only one person here for half a day per week! That's no way to run a library.

Meanwhile, I'm planning a fairly low-key weekend for myself. I've got the usual things to do like laundry and grocery shopping, and I also want to go to the video shop and get some more season 3 West Wing. I've also got to finish watching Battlestar Gallactica. I'm about half-way through it and I've yet to see CKR, although I did peek at him a little just to get the feel of, well, whatever I wanted to get the feel of. I might even do some writing, if I'm so inclined. However given that I churned out about 8000 words this week, perhaps I've done my share for the moment. Although there is that Sports Night fic involving llamas, cheesecake and ducks that I've been promising in_the_bottle for a while. And with the recent cancellation of the hockey season in the US, I'm sure Dan and Casey will have something to say about that.

ETA: I'm home, drinking a beer and researching the hockey lockout. Maybe the llamas will get a look-in after all.
