I have a suit. It's a black, pure wool Country Road. The jacket is single breasted, with three welt pockets - two for use, one for show - and the pants are plain, flat-fronted with no pockets. I was after something in a char-grey with pinstripes, but there was nothing to be had that fitted me properly, so I stuck with the tried and true black. It also cost about $100.00 more than I planned to spend, but Country Road were having a special promotion this weekend wherein you received a free skirt or pair of pants with any suit jacket bought, so how could I pass that up?

The only problem is, the jacket is a size smaller than I usually take. It fits me fine now because I've lost a little bit of weight recently, but I'm worried that if I put on the weight on again I won't be able to wear it on a long-term basis. They rang around a couple of other stores to see if they could get their hands on my usual size, but there wasn't one to be found thanks to the sale, so I took the smaller size simply because I was pretty much over the whole suit-buying exercise by then.

What I might do is ring the Country Road store near my work tomorrow, explain the situation and ask if they can get one in, and if they'll exchange it for the one I've got.

The one thing I've learned about this exercise is that when it comes to clothes, you really do get what you pay for. If you want a cheap suit, then that's what you'll get. The difference in the quality of the elcheapos I tried on in one shop and the much more costly garment I wound up with is tremendous. Of course that fact that I have about $60.00 to my name until payday is immaterial to the fact that I now have a nice, sharp suit.

I am so getting this job.

It's entirely possible that I've consumed too much caffeine and sugar today. I'm twitchy, jumpy, and finding it hard to concentrait. I suppose that'll learning me for having nothing but coffee, a yoyo and a cherry danish for lunch, and red and green jelly for dinner.
