My Christmas has involved way too much food and not enough drinking, but since I was driving that latter isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've pretty much spent the last two days hanging out at the brother-in-law's sister's house, eating OMG, huge amounts of food, not really drinking because I'm being good and watching the nephew be unbearably cute.
But seriously, I don't think I'll be eating again for a very long time. For lunch yesterday we had turkey and ham and chicken and pork, there were roast potatoes and pumpkin, beans, cauliflower cheese, tomato and onion pie and carrots. All this after the salmon mousse for starters, and then followed by pudding with cream and custard. This does not include all the nuts, chocolates, chips and other nibbles we snacked on all day. Then today we had a BBQ with sausages, lamb, potato salad, green salad, left over ham and crusty bread. More nibbles throughout the day, and dinner was the biggest lasange you've ever seen and garlic bread.
I don't think I could look another salted nut in the eye even if I tried.
Tomorrow I am definitely going on a long, long ride on my bike.
Oh, and the best present I received was discovering that my brother has Farscape on DVD. Guess what I'll be watching over the next few days :~)
