Well, the year has started on a less than stellar note in the form of a mild bout of food poisoning. It could have been any one of a number of things I ate, but I woke up on new year's day and promptly threw up everything I'd eaten for the last week. Despite the on-going queasiness, I somehow I managed to get my act together long enough to make it to the old home town, where upon I feel asleep for five hours. I woke up feeling tired and achy, managed to make it over to sister's house for dinner (where I ate very little) and then threw up again at some unknown time in the early hours of the morning.
I'm a lot better today. This afternoon I thought I was going to have another relapse, but I've come good and managed to keep down a sandwich and some yoghurt for dinner. I was kind of hoping that I'd be feeling sick enough to not go to work tomorrow, but I guess the holiday has to end sooner or later.
So, NYE. Not too shabby. Went to the Saints and Sinners night at the Saint in St Kilda. I was a saint, of course *g* There were several funny incidents where people kept trying to sit on the coffee Table in the corner that my friends and I had staked out. After this one girl ended on her arse after she tried to dance on it, anytime someone so much as looked like they were going to sit on it we all shouted "Don't sit on the table!" and scared the shit out of them. Fun!
I was driving so I remained very clean and sober, to the point where I had to take K home and put her to be because she would keep chugging down the cheap and nasty sav blanc they were serving at the bar. I don't think her mum was too impressed when I had to wake to her up because K had been sick in bed, and the nice police lady who breath tested me on the way there kept looking at her and saying, "A bit snoozy!"
Oh dear.
