They Say What They Say

I have a kilo of plums sitting in my fruit basket and absolutely no idea what to do with them. They were going free at work a few days ago so I grabbed a bagful, thinking maybe I'd make jam at the time. But none of my recipe books seem to have a decent plum jam recipe in them (and yes, Country Women's Association Cookery Book, I AM looking at you! Out of all my cookery books I never thought you would let me down over a jam recipe!)

I suppose I could make plum sauce, but I don't really use it, like, ever. And plum cake is a possibility, but I think I'd need to make about four cakes to use up all those plums. However I don't think my waistline could handle four plum cakes at the moment, and I've given up taking cake into work. None of them deserve cake and I'm not wasting my cake making skills on them any more.

Surprisingly enough (or not) plum pudding doesn't actually contain plums.
