If I've seemed somewhat MIA the last few days it's because I've been in the old home town doing the birfday thing with the family. I'm trying to catch up on my flist, but if anyone has any significant life-changing moments and I've failed to comment, I do apologise and and now offer you hugs/cheers/snark as appropriate in return.

I have to say, this year's has been one of the better birfdays I've had in recent times. But at the same time I'm glad it has now wound to a close. Mostly because of all the food I've consumed over the last few days. Since Wednesday my life has consisted of cake, take away, cake, restaurant meal, cake, restaurant meal and large amounts of champagne, more cake, Hungry Jacks (AKA Burger King), cake again, home made lasagna and pears poached in white wine, cake and then even more cake.

Don't get me wrong, I love cake, but even I have my limits as to how much cake I can eat at any one time. Also, all the take aways and restaurant meals have certainly taken their toll, and I suspect I'll be living on lettuce and sweating copiously at the gym for the next month just to recover.

But, damn, it was a good birfday this year.

So, Monday tomorrow, and I have a mock interview to practice for the real interview on Thursday. I feel strangely prepared, even though I've hardly looked at the research stuff all weekend. And if I'm not I guess I'll know what I need to bone up on after tomorrow.

I'm now contemplating the pile of DVDs I borrowed on Tuesday and have yet to watch. They've got to go back to the video library next Tuesday, but I'm really not in the mood to watch anything right now. Ah well, I guess I'll just have to write off that ten dollars and try and remember not to borrow DVDs when I'm not in a DVD frame of mind in the future.
