So, I drank way too much beer last night and, for reason that really don't need exploring at this juncture, have come to the conclusion that men really do suck (except for my sekrit TV boyfriends) and maybe I'd be better off with a cat to keep me company. Only my landlord won't let me have a cat, or pot plants when it comes down to it, so yeah, life is not so dandy at the moment. I'm sure things will look better once I've had a cup of coffee and a hot cross bun, but since I need to, like, get dressed and leave the house in order to acquire both, hmm, maybe sitting on the couch in my jammies is the better option.

I'm feeling marginally less miserable than I was this morning. Of course this morning I was also somewhat hung over, but a spot of shopping and large amounts of junk food have helped greatly.

I had to visit no less than 4 supermarkets to buy fresh coriander to put in my laksa today. How is it that every supermarket in north-eastern Melbourne (or at least the ones I went to) could run out of coriander on the same day? Even Leo's, the super expensive and very wonderful gourmet supermarket in Heidelburg (where I saw Charles 'Bud' Tingwall pushing a trolley around), had run out. It's astonishing! Anyway, coriander bought and laksa made, but as usual I now have a pile of dishes waiting to be done :~\

So I was watching Dead Men Don't Throw Rice today, and the cutest thing ever is Ray prompting Fraser out of the corner of his mouth as Fraser 'informs' (lies to) their prisoners that they can get police protection if their testify. *hearts*

There's this fascinating documentary on the ABC at the moment about Carol Jerrems, a photographer who lived and worked in Melbourne and Sydney in the 1970's. She took photos of every aspect of her life, including herself when she was sick with the illness that she eventually died of, and God I wish I had just an ounce of her gumption and ability to live her life just the way she wanted to.

A surprisingly insightful meme:

What type of Fae are you?
