laylee: (Baby Josh by Annie)
I have in my (temporary) possession a DVD edition of Hairspray which features not only weeJosh in his first movie appearance (being from Baltimore, how could he not start out in a John Waters movie?) but also commentary by Mr Waters himself, and Ricki Lake. Having watched the first few minutes I suspect that Ricki is going to find it hard to squeeze a word in edgewise, but it's fun to watch out for weeJosh looking all cute and OMG, seventeen! as he does the Twist and the Mashed Potato.

ETA: OMG, John mentioned that Josh was on Sports Night!!!!!!!!

*squeeeeeee!!!!!*

It is really unbelievably cold today and my heater is having a hard time keeping up. I'm not even going to turn it off when I go out later, just turn the thermostat down a little and make sure it's not too close to the couch.

Of course I can't leave the house until I get dressed, but the thought of having to venture into the bathroom where it is freezing is not a pleasant one. But I must do such because I want eggs on toast, and while I have the eggs I ran out of bread a few days ago. And I need to do mundane things like go to the supermarket and pick up a lay-by. Also I want to go to the video shop and get some DVDs to keep me amused during my week off while I write my metadata essay. Which I need to start. Tonight. No question.

*nods*

Why do not have an icon with Danny looking like Elmer Fudd? It'd be perfect for today. Oh well, I'll just have to go with the llamas.

ETA: OMG, even O, who grew up in Siberia, thinks it's way too cold. Now that's saying something.

So, the other day [livejournal.com profile] malnpudl posted a link to the cover Lover Her Madly done by the Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir, and I've pretty much become obsessed with it between then and now. I just love the moodiness of the track, the way Hugh puts so much feeling into the lyrics and the spare simplicity of the arrangement. It's really hard to describe, but I don't think I've been this affected by a song for a long time. I just wish the writing pixies were working so I could put the bits of fic it has inspired down on paper.

Anyway, in lieu of that I've posted it to Megaupload so I can share the glee.
