So my plan to spam the world with my ramblings about metadata and adventures in cooking didn't quite come off. But I did make a very yummy pot of chicken and vegetable soup with rice and watched many episodes of Press Gang to pass the time.
God I love Press Gang. It was the kids show you watched when you didn't want to watch a kids show. It started out so innocent and got rather twisted and dark toward the end (particularly after Kenny left), but it was always fun, and you've just got to love a character like Lynda who, while having very few redeeming features, was the sort of girl you really wanted to be in school. Not the pretty one with all the clothes and boyfriends, but the smart one who knew she was smart and who wasn't afraid to voice her opinion on anything.
Okay, so you wanted to be the pretty one as well, but as long as you were also smart and funny.
But Dexter Fletcher? Kinda cute until he got old and kinda creepy-looking.
I really need to buy the Press Gang DVDs. I'm currently watching the tapes I made back in 1993 when the series was still being regularly screened on the ABC. The picture and sound is okay, but I am missing the occasional episode beginning or ending when the VCR timer didn't quite sync with the start of the show.
