I'm fairly fortunate in that I live in a corner flat at the top of the stairs so I only have one neighbour, unlike most of the other residents in my block who have people on both sides. I'm also fortunate that guy who is my neighbour is rarely home because he spends most of his time at his girlfriend's place, and when he is home he's usually in bed by 9pm because he goes to work at 7am.

What this all means is that I hardly ever have to deal with neighbourly noise. I never hear a peep out of the woman downstairs, and in general I have a fairly peaceful and quite abode. Why then, on the first morning in over a week that I have a chance for a sleep in, does Mr Next Door Neighbour choose this morning to not only be home, but to also conduct a very loud conversation with said girlfriend in his living room; the living room that shares a wall with my bedroom!

I'm eating curry and drinking beer. No, my name isn't Dave Lister1, but the yob in me does like a good vindaloo.

I went to visit my friend A today, only she was feeling a bit down because her cat went out last night and hasn't yet come home. We went for a walk around her neighbourhood to see if we could spot him, but there was no sign of him.

If you live in the Brunswick area and spot a grey and white cat who answers to Achilles wandering around, can you tell him to go straight home because his mother is very worried about him.

On my way over to Brunswick this afternoon I spied a garage sale, so I stopped for a look and scored a wonderful vintage leather handbag for $3! It's possibly late 50's or early 60's and looks like something Doris Day would team with a tweed suit, glace kid stilettos and a little pill box hat worn at a jaunty angle. I'll give it a rub over with some shoe creme and it should come up a treat!

My nephew sent his first text message today. To me! Granted it was by accident when he was playing with his mum's phone and there was no actual text in the message, but it was so cute. Next thing you know he'll have his own LJ!

I have the day off tomorrow and I may buy shoes. I'm just saying.

1I actually know someone called David Lister and he's also a big Red Dwarf fan, although I think he draws the line at living off nothing but curry and larger. His wife would probably kick him out if he did!
