K-Mart was having a sale yesterday so naturally I had to buy the first season of Angel the Series on DVD, since I'd finished buying Buffy and you really can't have one without the other. I've pretty much mainlined the first three discs and feel the need to rush out and buy the next season when I get paid on Friday. I'm never going to be able to follow a savings plan, am I?

Robert Jordan has died!, just before he finished the final installment of the Wheel of Time series. I began reading the series years ago when an ex gave me the first book and for a while there they were the tops on my must read list. Like many people I got tired of the increasingly convoluted plot and gave up after about book seven, but it was always in the back of my mind to go back to them one day to see how it all ended. Now I may never get the chance.

So, the other week I got my tax refund and true to my vow I paid off my credit card; the card I used to pay for all my car repairs a couple of months ago. I owed over $2000 on it thanks to Delia, but this tax refund - the last decent tax refund I'll get for a long time now that I've finished school and can no longer claim work-related self education expenses - was just enough to cover it. And because I also had it set up so that my bank would automatically make a payment on the card each fortnight, the two crossed over slightly and the credit company ended up owning me about $67.00, for which they were going to send me a cheque. Except of course they had to extract their final pound of flesh in the form of about $20.00 worth of interest and charges before they cut the cheque. Bastards. They always get you, even when you think you're in the clear.

My cold is better but the lady pains have decided to visit. I'm not sure which is worse :~\
