Last night I had the pleasure of playing hostess to
jamethiel_bane once again. It was a fairly mellow evening: we drank some wine and ate some pizza and watched a couple of DVDs. The first was The Emperor's New Groove which was hilarious and featured copious amounts of LLAMAS! OMG, why did no one tell me??? After that we watched MirrorMask which I found to be fantastic and which I will definitely be buying on DVD so I can watch it again.
Stephen Fry played the librarian *insert tiny squee of joy* although my professional hackles did raise a little at all the shushing he did *hurrumps*
After I dropped J at the train station this morning I made my way over to Northcote Plaza where I exchanged the duck pyjamas that were too small for me for a pair of penguin pyjamas that fit juuust right. I also purchased wool, a knitting pattern book so I can make M a hat for winter, a few grocery items and some socks.
When I got home the first thing I did was eat lunch, and the second thing I did was clean out my fridge. I've been avoiding cooking things that would require left overs to be frozen for about two weeks now because my freezer was so iced over Benton Fraser would find it hard going. Finally I had eaten everything that needed eating so today was the big day. Before I left the house I turned it off and set a bowl of hot water inside it, and by the time I got home half the ice had already loosened and it didn't take long to get rid of the rest. After that it was just a matter of pulling everything out of the fridge and giving the inside of both parts a good going over with my new cleaning product of choice; white vinegar and bicarb of soda. It amazing what can be achieved with a couple of common household products and some elbow grease. Plus, they're so much better for the environment. I now had a lovely fresh and clean fridge, and the toaster came up a treat when I gave it a scrub with the vinegar and soda combo. While I was at it I also gave the shower a good scrub, did all my dishes, including my collection of vintage jugs, and gave the microwave a clean. To celebrate I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and I fully intend to freeze the leftovers just because I can!
I was going to do the Eight Truths and Two Lies meme but I can't think up any plausible lies to feed y'all. That's kind of pathetic, isn't it?
After I finished my cleaning binge I sat down to watch the DVD of Legend that I got a couple of weeks ago. Now I remember why I had such a crush on Tom Cruise when I was a teenager. The man has great legs!
I started reading this SPN fic. A fic that has a great premise and is long an ploty, just the way I like 'em. But OMG, the girl seriously needs a good beta. Of if she does have one, she needs to fire them and find a new one because the grammar and sentence structure is just criminal.
Ugh, I've eaten too much dinner. I think I'll save the rest for lunch tomorrow. And A just sent me a text asking if I want to meet him and T at the Marquis of Lorne for a drink. I might just do that.
