Kylie Minogue at Rod Laver Arena last night was fantastic! Seriously, I can't remember that last time I saw a better show. As you can imagine it was choreographed to within an inch of its life, but everything worked so well together it was mesmerising. Gaultier's costumes were positively wonderful, particularly this red silk gown that was split from hem to waist and worn with a pair of red patent thigh boots and a military cap. I also loved the turquoise dress she wore during the ballad section of the evening, and I so want to make a version of the shorts and corset number the backup singers were wearing during the Copacabana number.

Of course getting a taxi home was fun - not, and I've been a little hard of hearing all day, but it was such a great night and I am definitely going to try and catch more big-name shows next year if it kills me!

I've put way too much sugar in the cake I'm making. That'll learn me for not reading the instructions properly and failing to realise that three quarters of the sugar goes in the cake and the rest of it is for the lemon syrup that goes over it when it's done. I've also overcooked it slightly.

I am incredibly tired and I need to make my bed up, but I've just started watching Brick, this curious little crime movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt on SBS. Damn them for screening interesting indy flicks that suck me right in when I have to get up early the next morning to drive to the old home town.
