laylee: (Llama Love)

I just made bananananana muffins using soy milk. I had bought it for when a vegan friend came to visit and it was just sitting in the fridge going to waste so I thought, what the hey? They're quite nice muffins, as it turns out.

I forgot to tell you that I saw real actual llamas on the weekend! I went to the local agricultural show in the old home town with my sister, the kids and the BIL, and there were llamas in one of the animal displays. Oh my, they were so beautiful. And they have such long eyelashes! And then, in the baby animal pavilion there was an alpaca, plus there were camels giving camel rides near the circus. More camelids than I know what to do with!

I cannot believe that tomorrow is Wednesday. C called me while I was at gym tonight and he's very excited about me coming to Canberra on Friday. I'm very excited as well. It's been a while since I've left the state, and gone anywhere other than the old home town for the weekend, so this weekend should be loads of fun!

Work did not suck so badly today, partially because I got the nerve to send an email I'd been avoiding sending, but mostly because we got word that the VC has declared December 24th a University holiday* so we get an extra day off over the Christmas/New Year break. And what's more, we also get to close at 1pm on the 21st, thus giving us another half day on top of it. Woot!

*We weren't sure if we were going to get the 24th as a holiday. Normally we'd be expected to work Christmas eve if the day its self fell during the week, but this year he's decided to 'reward' us for all our hard work during the transition. And we all thought we'd have to close at 6pm as usual on the 21st, so the 1pm closing is such a bonus!
