Even though I had a late start thanks to le hangover, today I...
- Power walked from Fairfield to Fitzroy in just under forty minutes. That's about six kilometers, I think.
- Picked up the turtleneck jumper I had on layby at Country Road in Lygon street.
- Bought groceries.
- Bought Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Kiss Me Kate, Meet Me In St. Louis and Local Hero on DVD from Borders with the gift card the girls at work gave to me for my birthday.
- Bought petrol.
- Carted everything home.
- Put the groceries away.
- Started a pot of rhubarb chutney.
- Dusted and vacuumed the living room while the chutney was cooking.
- Sterilised all the empty jars I had in the cupboard and filled them with chutney!
With all that accopmlished I felt quite justified in changing into my JPs while dinner cooked. I'm now watching An American in Paris and admiring Gene kelly's buns. Oh my, that man had great buns! And he was no slouch in the arms and shoulders department either. Plus I love Leslie Caron's look in the perfume shop scene. The straight black skirt drawn in at the waist with a leather belt and worn with a black turtleneck - her only accessories being a red scarf knotted at the neck and her beautiful, bright smile. So French, so chic!
See!

I might even be able to get away with the same look myself. I have a couple of fine wool black turtlenecks and my simple A-line skirt pattern would go very well in black. All I'd need is a nice black belt and a little joi de verve and I'm all set!
ETA: I've moved onto Kiss Me Kate. Such a fun movie! I wish I had legs like Ann Miller, and Howard Keel fills out a pair of tights quite nicely as well. Plus, wee!Bob Fosse being brilliant in 'From This Moment On'. What's not to love?
