Some Guy by Eliza J. Bailey
Number seven in the Sam drabble series that
khohen1 and I have been writing for
sn100 challenge #23. The others can be found here.
"So he just left?" Abby asks. "No good-bye or anything?"
"Not a word. Dana was kinda bummed."
"I thought she didn't like him?"
"No, he drove her crazy. Different thing all together."
"I'll take you word for it." She pauses. "How did you feel when he left?"
Dan hunches his shoulders. "He was just some guy, Abby. Didn't bother me one way or the other."
"Danny…"
"It was never a big deal," he flares. "Everyone made it out to be so much more than it really was. He's just some guy."
"With Sam's name."
After a while Dan swipes his eyes, hating that she's right.
