Okay, once I've posted this, I'm gonna stop spamming lj and go make some scones before I fall asleep. Or maybe I'll just go straight to the sleeping bit...

"I thought I'd lost it," Dan said, staring at the cassette tape clutched in his hand.
"What is it?" Casey asked.
Dan shook his head, looking confused and little lost.
Casey took the tape out of Dan's hand and looked at. The tracks were hand-lettered on the cover. The Clash, David Bowie and The Ramones were the only names he recognised. At the top someone had written in bright green magic marker, 'Danny's Sanity.'
"Sam made it for me," Dan said softly. "To play on my way to…"
Casey squeezed his shoulder as Dan trailed off. He didn't need to hear any more.
"I thought I'd lost it," Dan said again, eyes downcast.
Casey wondered when the tears would come.
