OMG, JACK AND IANTO HAVE EATEN MY BRAIN. I HAVE SPENT THE WHOLE WEEKEND READING FIC AND NOW I CAN'T THINK IN ANYTHING EXCEPT CAPSLOCK. LAST NIGHT I DREAMED ABOUT IANTO'S RED SHIRT AND THE DARK TIE HE WEARS WITH IT, AND THIS AFTERNOON WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM GREENSBOROUGH I THOUGHT A ROAD SIGN SAID 'JACK/IANTO' AND NOT 'CITY NEXT EXIT'.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I AM EXPOSED TO CANON BOY KISSAGE. WHAT AM I GOING TO DOOOOOO?
Mood:: 'indescribable' indescribable

Yesterday was The Best Fun Ever, having spent the entire day at [livejournal.com profile] in_the_bottle's house with [livejournal.com profile] slashybits, [livejournal.com profile] out_there and [livejournal.com profile] kaneko watching the second season of Torchwood from go to whoa. OMG, if I wasn't a Jack/Ianto fan before I certainly amy now. In fact, I think the girls got a little tired of me asking "Is there boy kissing?" each time we started a new ep and my sad face when they so no. [livejournal.com profile] slashybits gave me chocolate shoes as a late birthday present, and I don't think I'll be able to eat pizza or corn chips for quite some time, however eleven hours of Torchwood was the best way to spend ANZAC day ever!

But now I needs some J/I recs, dear flist, give me recs!!!!

*ahem*

For some reason it came as no surprise to anyone that I turned up to the TW party a little hung over from going out with my friend K the night before. We went to The Retreat for dinner and then up to The Spot for drinks, but I'm not altogether sure that I had a good time. K is one of those incredibly gregarious people who can talk to anyone, while I'm more reserved and find it hard to strike up conversations with total strangers and she doesn't quite get that it's difficult for me. Plus, I tend to get a little pissy when, after I tell people what I do, they trot out the standard "Oh, you must really like to read" and "Do you spend your whole day telling people to sush?" cliches and I just want to scream! Trying to explain how a modern academic library works doesn't help either, because my industry is riddled with buzz words and acronyms and it really is just gobbledygook to the uninitiated. Then there was this one guy who, for reasons best known to himself, went slightly psycho after I told him where I worked and where I had gone to uni. There was something about one institution being an elitist pile of crap and the other being a wanking wannabe, but I didn't stay to hear the rest of it because he was a LOONY so I just walked off. There has to be an easier way to make new friends and meet people :~|

Now I really should be getting on and doing things. I have laundry to deal with, I want to dust vacuum my flat and I need to go to the supermarket for a few necessities. But the day, which started out so nice and sunny, has turned windy and grey and I really can't be bothered venturing very far. I've gotten dressed, which is something I suppose. And all the SPN glee on my flist is making me both squee in anticipation for the new episodes and be very incredibly jealous of those who have seen it already. Maybe I'll wander down to Station street for a coffee then come back and dig out the discs with season one Torchwood that A gave to me and watch Jack and Ianto make out some more.
