serenity

Oh my god Serenity! I saw it last night and it was just the best thing Id seen at the cinema probably since The Two Towers. Joss Whedon is a God, there is absolutely no question about it. Who else could take what some people would see as abject failure and turn it around into a complete roaring success?

Everyone can get something out of this movie, even non-sci fi fans like one of the guys who went with me last night. There's humour, pathos, action, romance, angst and of course the inimitable Whedon dialog. There were a couple of twists that I so wasn't expecting, and my love for Mal has pretty much exploded. Also, could Gina Torres please stop being so unbelievably beautiful? She's making me feel terribly inadequate.

Meh, I could rabbit on for hours about this, but I don't want to spoil it for people who have yet to witness the wonder. So, to quote a well known Australian music presenter, do yourself a favour and go see it! You will not be sorry.
