Argh. *kicks stupid executives* I don't watch it, but from all I've heard it's a good show.
Also, I'm disappointed by the headline. "HBO ready to bury ‘Six Feet Under’" - a decent enough go, but why not add 'show' in there, as in "HBO ready to bury show ‘Six Feet Under'"? or you could have "This show's going Six Feet Under" or many other (wittier) puns, surely?
(And when it's finished, you could have a retrospective entitled "Requiem for Six Feet Under". I forsee the people who come up with titles rubbing their hands together and cackling with glee.)
It's probably as well really, as shark-jumpage* seems to be inevitable and some were arguing it'd already happened (not me, I was still quite happy thank you). But there aren't enough good shows on telly, and this was one of the best. Also, Peter Krause.
* After the episode of CSI we watched on Saturday, I am in future going to refer to 'jumping the shark' as 'shagging the clown'.
Grrr... though I did kind of have a feeling based on the way things are going for the Fishers. Especially Nate and Brenda's arc.
All I can say, is someone, PLEASE, put Peter Krause and Josh Charles together in a show again. They're both going to be available real real soon! (And if you could have it be written by Aaron Sorkin, that'd be great).
Sadly, from what I've heard, Josh Charles has claimed to be completely unwilling to work with Aaron Sorkin again after Sorkin gave up on SN so easily. But we can still hope for a Josh&Peter reunion at least.
I've heard similar stories. And from Peter''s camp as well. Apparently he feels that they're better as friends than co-workers. But it would be great to see Peter and Josh together again.
Although I hate to see my favourite shows end, I'm not sad that they're ending when they want to and not because they have to. There's nothing worse than seeing a show limp along when it should have been put out of it's misery long ago.
