I watched From Hell on TV last night. A very odd movie. Depp was wonderful, as always, and I loved his Cockney accent. Robbie Coletrain was a delight, but I found Heather Graham a little too clean to pass as a 19th century prostitute, and the way her accent slipped around was distracting. Also the red herrings were not very red, despite all the blood.

Am currently applying for a new job, cataloguing volumes of Blackwoods Edinburgh Magazine and listening to the radio. Three cheers for multi-tasking!

I don't know why johnny Depp keeps picking such mediocre-to-awful movies. He deserves better. He at least deserves sexier costars. It makes me sad.

That's the problem with fandom. So much mediocrity must be waded through to get to the good stuff.

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of job are you applying for? Is it a Librarian position or are you jumping ship?

It's not a library position but a job with in another department at the university where I work. It's information provision to new students so it's sort of related but not really. Basically I'm applying for everything I'm remotely qualified for *g*

Huh... I didn't realised it was on till way later and by that time, I could no longer follow the storyline. Before that, I was actually watching Don Juan DeMarco on DVD, yet another Depp movie with an accent. Spanish accent this time. And eyeliner!! LOL!

It was a very strange movie.

Might have to rent it.

Aw, poor kitty...

I remember complaining about Heather Graham when I saw that movie in the cinema - she definately needs more grime to be believable.

And her hair was very red. Almost too red if you ask me, but it was probably some sort of metaphor.
