Well, two at least.

Firstly, happy belated birthday to Callum Keith Rennie for yesterday.

Secondly happy birthday to Josh Charles for today. He turning the ripe of age of...(psst, [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum, how old is wee josh?)

Anyway I hope they both had/have great days.

In other fanish news, the final installment of due South is set to be released on DVD later this month, and just look at this cover:

Isn't that great? And is has commentary! We get to hear Paul Gross' thoughts about the series and other stuff!

Speaking of which, who do I have to suck up to to get Slings and Arrows released on DVD so I can join in with the squee?

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] eskarinasmith just sent me this exciting piece of news that was posted to paulgross.org:

Many thanks to Kay who wrote to tell us she's heard from the Showcase Boutique that they hope to have Slings & Arrows out on DVD by Christmas! (We presume that's Series 1.)

[livejournal.com profile] in_the_bottle tagged me for this so here goes.

List seven of your favourite songs of the moment in your journal and force seven other people to repeat this process.

1. Sleazy by Dirty South. They're a local dance act and the guy who provided the vocals was the lead singer in my all-time favourite band The Mavis's.
2. Anything by the Headstones. It's the track that CKR is rumour to have provided back-up vocals for.
3. True Tears of Joy by Hunters and Collectors. And achingly beautiful song about love and loss.
4. Crimson and Clover by Tommy Jones and the Shondells from the Sports Night soundtrack.
5. Dirty Back Road by the B52's. It always reminds me of hot summer nights back in the old home toen when my friends and I would all hang out at this one pub in Bridge street.
6. Rollercoaster by The Mavis's. Once again it harks back to my misspent youth when I was a dedicated groupy to the old home town's most successful band.
7. Planet Earth by Duran Duran. Just because.

Okay, I'm not sure if any of you have done this yet but I'm handing over the reins to [livejournal.com profile] dawnglider, [livejournal.com profile] tookhernowhere, [livejournal.com profile] c_regalis, [livejournal.com profile] dzurlady, [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum (but only if the new job hasn't left you wrung-out), [livejournal.com profile] china_shop, [livejournal.com profile] secret_garden and [livejournal.com profile] suzy_queue.

ETA: None of you are under any obligation. I know everyone is busy so if you can fit it in, that's great, otherwise don't worry about it.
