I'm off to pick Delia up in about 15 minutes and I have to say, I'm very excited! Yes, I know now is possibly not the best time to be buying a car, but sometimes you've just got to take a risk, eh?

Anyway, FYI, she's a 1990 Ford Telstar hatchback, dark blue-green in colour, with electric windows, power steering, cruise control and a CD player. My sister had the same model until a kind bus driver crashed into it a few weeks ago, and it was relatively economical and always a pleasure to drive.

Of course I'm not abandoning my bike or public transport completely. Rather I'm seeing this purchase as giving me another alternative when it comes to getting around. I'll mostly ride my bike in the city because it's so much easier, but it'll be nice not to have to mess around with time tables and taxis when I go out at night or visit the old home town.
