So, I took Delia to the panel beaters today and apparently it's all fixable.
*breathes huge sigh of relief*
It'll take about a week to repair, but having lived quite successfully without a car for five years, a week is a mere drop in the ocean.
All I can say is, though, is thank god for comprehensive car insurance. It would have been such a huge hassle without it. And I just know I would have a fight on my hands to get taxi guy to cough up the readies to pay for it. Instead, I just drove over to the recommended repairer (who, BTW, are located about five minutes up the road and who already had my details from the insurance people) they took a look at the damage and told me when I could bring her in. Everything else is handled by the insurance company, including wringing the cash out of taxi guy.
*huggles large capital outlay that results in less hassle for me*
Anyhoo, I took the afternoon of work to get it organised, and since it only took me about half an hour I've just been faffing around the rest of the time. Also I borrowed work's digital camera to take some pictures of the damage:
( Look at what he did to my car! )
