Oh my goodness gracious, today is the most pointless day at work, ever. No one in the reading room; barely anyone in the whole library aside from the staff. We're all just hanging around waiting until 1.00pm when we can go and finish our Christmas shopping. The boss has already left, the deputy boss left yesterday and is now possibly in Egypt. I have plans to look for my Christmas present to myself (why, yes, it is shoes!) and then I'm going to go to gym. The only bright spot has been the "this library is closing soon" announcement that sounded like the lending services guys have been into the Christmas cheer a little early.

Ho Ho Hum

Oh my goodness gracious, today is the most pointless day at work, ever. No one in the reading room; barely anyone in the whole library aside from the staff. I have plans to look for my Christmas present to myself (why, yes, it is shoes!) and then I'm going to go to gym. Shoes were not bought, but the last of my Christmas shopping was achieved and gym was attended. The temperature is currently 33c and I have consumed two Moscow Mules (vodka, lime juice, ginger beer) and eaten one bowl of pasta. I am ensconced on my couch, watching the Sex and the City marathon on TV and wondering where I can find a lamp like the one Carrie has in her bedroom.

As all this is going on I ponder, where has the year gone? And then I remember that this year has been one of the least stellar in my life, so good riddance!
