Public holiday today, one of the few my place of employment actually observes, so woohoo day off! And long weekend even!!

I have vague plans for the day, some of which involve poached eggs on toast (very yummy) and laundry (last load just finished). I'll probably go for a ride on my bike later, and I want to try and pop into gym. And I might even do some sewing. But other than that, I have no plans.

Last night I finally got the storage thingies I've been wanting from Ikea for my shoes. They are now neatly sorted into heels, flats and sneakers in one box, and boots in another. No longer are they a jumbled mess at the bottom of my wardrobe. It's a good feeling, I tell you. I'm even thinking about buying shoe trees for them all!

Now what I'd really like to do is dump the teensy chest of draws that I've had since I was about twelve and get a much larger tallboy with many more draws for all my stuff. I also want to get some sort of sideboard for the living room so I can store all my sewing paraphernalia in it and get rid of the box I currently use to house such things in my wardrobe, and thus free up even more space for shoes! Of course all of this takes money, of which I am sadly lacking, and I'm not even going to talk about the new bed that I want, but I have all year to achieve this and will one day see order, not to mention more storage space, come into my life.

Hmm, it's after midday and I'm still in my PJs. Should I get dressed and go out? Maybe I'll have another cup of tea and think about it later.
Mood:: 'relaxed' relaxed

Despite my lazy start to the day I actually managed to get quite a bit done. I did four loads of laundry, including bedding and towels, and hung it all out, walked down to the shops to buy bananananas, caught up with A&O for coffee, went to gym - dropping in at the supermarket on my way home - made a big pot of pasta sauce and have just finished making muesli slice from a recipe I found in this week's Epicure. I didn't go for a bike ride, but I guess going to gym made up for that. I did attempt to watch Callum on Smallville, but not even his presence could bring me to sit through a whole episode. Five minutes was more than enough and then I turned the TV off.

I'm now faffing around on eBay while I wait for the slice to finish cooking and contemplating buying Brideshead Revisited on DVD. Since I'm saving up for the West Wing series box set for my birthday I really shouldn't be spending the money, but still...there's nothing like doomed love between beautiful boys.

Somehow I cut my lip. I'm not sure how, but every time I smile it stings. Then I lick my lips, which, of course, dries them out, so when I talk the dry skin tugs at the cut and it stings. Ouch!

Okay, the slice it out of the oven and I must be off to bed. As soon as I make it up, of course.
