Public holiday today, one of the few my place of employment actually observes, so woohoo day off! And long weekend even!!

I have vague plans for the day, some of which involve poached eggs on toast (very yummy) and laundry (last load just finished). I'll probably go for a ride on my bike later, and I want to try and pop into gym. And I might even do some sewing. But other than that, I have no plans.

Last night I finally got the storage thingies I've been wanting from Ikea for my shoes. They are now neatly sorted into heels, flats and sneakers in one box, and boots in another. No longer are they a jumbled mess at the bottom of my wardrobe. It's a good feeling, I tell you. I'm even thinking about buying shoe trees for them all!

Now what I'd really like to do is dump the teensy chest of draws that I've had since I was about twelve and get a much larger tallboy with many more draws for all my stuff. I also want to get some sort of sideboard for the living room so I can store all my sewing paraphernalia in it and get rid of the box I currently use to house such things in my wardrobe, and thus free up even more space for shoes! Of course all of this takes money, of which I am sadly lacking, and I'm not even going to talk about the new bed that I want, but I have all year to achieve this and will one day see order, not to mention more storage space, come into my life.

Hmm, it's after midday and I'm still in my PJs. Should I get dressed and go out? Maybe I'll have another cup of tea and think about it later.

Mmmm poached eggs on toast. That is just divine. With smoked salmon. Yummo.

And yes to the need for more storage for stuff. Shoes are important and should be given due priority.

And jammies, stay in them if you like. Although I have been to the gym and come home and have washed clothes (and me), and am now waiting for my last download and then I'm having a feast of watching.

With coffee.

Have a great Australia Day, babe.

I did eventually get dressed, and I went to gym as well. Plus I did four loads of laundry, went for a walk, caught up with friends for coffee and got a few things at the supermarket. I was actually quite productive, even though it feels like I haven't done much at all.

Yay for public holdays that fall on a Friday!

I was in my PJ's until 1:30pm, just got showered and dressed and went down to buy the papers now.

My laundry basket is very quickly filling but a wash and dry here is $6.00, so I only do a load on Sunday nights.

Storage is a major issue here, I have four drawers that are slightly larger than your average bedside table drawer, a really small space to hang my clothes and six shelves of varying depths and heights, I think I've actually done pretty well to find a place for most things.

I think I'm going to catch the train into town and have a wonder around tonight, thats about it.

I did get dressed. Eventually. And did large amounts of laundry, plus a few other things. I've also been to gym and am feeling a bit pooped now.

I've pretty much used up all my available storage space and now have to find creative solutions on a shoe-string budget. Either that or move into a larger flat :~\

Are there fireworks on tonight? There usually is around Southbank, but in all the years I've lived in Melbourne I've never once gone to see them!
