I know, long time, no popper update. What can I say? Life is a little OTT for me at the moment and sometimes it's all I can do to ensure that I have a pair of clean knickers to wear to work in the morning! It doesn't help that my brother has tripped off to Fiji for a week, leaving me to schlep out to Sunshine every day to feed and walk his dog.
I did, however, manage to fit in a visit to the Heide Museum of Modern Art on the weekend to catch up with a couple of friends who weren't able to make it to my birthday party. We wandered around for a couple of hours, looking at the exhibits in Heide II and III, but we couldn't get into Heide I because it's being renovated or something. Then we had a cup of tea in the cafe before going for a walk in the gardens, marvelling at the fabulous old oak trees and trying to work out the meaning behind the blue plastic buckets that were nailed to many of the trees :~\
When I got to work on Monday I went and found a copy of The Heart Garden: Sunday Reed and Heide in the general collection and have been wallowing in the bohemian underbelly of 1930's Melbourne when I haven't been doing homework ever since.
Meanwhile, it was Paul Gross' birthday the other day, an event that resulted in much glorious picspam on my flist, the revelation that Callum Keith Rennie and Hugh Dillon play golf while sporting hillbilly accents, and, as an extra special present to fandom,
scriggle confirmed something that we all knew anyway - that CKR really is the hottest of hot hot things, complete with photographic evidence!
I've spent the last couple of hours archiving all the fic that's been posted to
snarchive over the past few weeks. Oh my, it's been a prolific fandom over the last few weeks. And I know not everything is landing there either, so if you know of someone who isn't depositing their fic, push them my way and I'll add them to the collection.
