Good lord, I go away for one day and my flist EXPLODES all over the place. Could y'all stop being so interesting please!

Well, yet another successful Sports Night Chat has come and gone. As usual I flaked out at about 2.30am, but the others kept going for at least another five hours or so. There was much squeeing about Dan and Casey, Dana and Natalie and an inexplicable fondness for Isaac/Kim. Fish and chips and pizza were consumed, hot beverages made and many pee breaks needed. Being selective about what episodes we were going to watch definitely helped because we managed to power through season one and was well into season two by the time I called it quits. Apparently there's been a tentative date set for another one in January. I can't wait!

I have several things that need to be accomplished today, to wit:

* Purchasing toilet paper because I'm down to my last roll.
* Making pumpkin and leek soup.
* Getting my work clothes organised because it's back to the salt mine tomorrow.
* Eating cake.
* Starting on the dress I was going to make while I was on holidays.
* Something else that I can't remember now but I am sure it will come to me.

Guess which one is the most important on my to-do list?

In conclusion, Dan Rydell: )

Happy Canada Day to all the Canucks on my flist. Go forth and think of Callum!

I remembered that the other thing on my list was to buy credit for my mobile, which has been accomplished, so go me for getting most of my jobs done today! I also managed to make muffins, soup and these marinated pork skewers for dinner which weren't as nice as I hoped they would be.

I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow, but someone has to pay the rent and put food on the table. Not that I ever eat at my table because the sewing machine is usually set up on it, but you know what I mean. Plus, it's technically my last week in the economics library, although I haven't yet signed anything for the new job and until that happens I can't officially start. I'm sure it will all become clearer in the fullness of time, however I'm feeling like I'm in limbo at the moment and I really don't want to be hanging around waiting for something to happen for too much longer.

Meanwhile, I started knitting a jumper for the nephew, but somehow my stitch count came out wrong so I've had to pull it apart and start over. Grrr, I really hate casting on. However the yarn is a lovely wool/alpaca blend which is so soft and it knits up like a dream!

Remember when getting a paid account meant you could have up to, was it twenty user pics?, and that seemed like too many? I now have 117 and THAT'S not enough. What happened??? I've also got a bunch of icons that I've found in various icon posts over the years, but I wasn't always as anal about making sure I save them under the creator's name as I am now. If I use an icon and you made it but I haven't given you credit, I do apologies. My own icon making skillz are v. basic at best, so anything fancier than a square is way out of my league and I would never presume to take credit for someone else's work.

You know what's odd? Russian science fiction movies made at the height of the cold war, that's what's odd.
