it really is that obvious, isn't it?

This afternoon I casually mentioned to a member of my staff that one of my favourite actors was visiting the country at the moment.

"Oh, who's that?" she asked.

"Jensen Ackles," I replied.

"I've never heard of him," she said. "What's he in?"

"Supernatural," I told her. "And he was also in Days of Our Lives."

"Is there a picture?" she asked, her interest piqued.

"Indeed there is!"

I then googled for a picture and came up with this:



"Oh yes, that's very impressive!" she exclaimed.

She was even more impressed with this:



"And this is his equally attractive co-star," I added, showing her this:



"Oh my," she said, admiringly. "Are they a couple?"

How do you explain to a 50+ woman who has no idea about fandom (but a deep admiration for cute boys) the significance of that particular statement???
