As you may have guessed the last couple of days have not exactly been a bed of roses for me. And to cap it all off, I log into LJ today and it's all changed! What happened to my profile page and how do I turn it off????
Mood:: 'indescribable' indescribable

I'm spending the weekend in the old home town and it's bucketing down. And of course I didn't bring an overcoat with me, or a pair of relatively waterproof shoes. I have three pairs of heels but only one pair of sneakers, however that's nothing new. Nor did it stop my sister and I taking the kids to the local agricultural show this afternoon. We didn't linger very long in sideshow alley, but the handicrafts pavilion was surprisingly fun and the circus was a welcome respite from the howling wind. I pitied the poor equestrians who seemed hell bent of pressing on with their events despite the weather, and we got drenched buying the show bags. But I saw llamas and alpacas and cute kitties and bunnies and baby moo cows, plus I got a Berty Beetle show bag, so it wasn't all mud and driving rain.

Okay, I think I've got everything set for my sister's party tomorrow night. I've the dress and the shoes; the push-up bra and the accessories. N and I bought new lipsticks tonight (Target were having a two for one sale) and since it's going to be cold I found a cute pair of neutral fishnets that look good with open toed shoes. I also have a vintage red velvet evening coat to wear and my little silver Glomesh evening bag to store my lippy and a little bit of cash. Now I just need to get out of my funk so I can have some fun.

*sigh*

Heh, I'm not usually the curtain-twitcher type, but a car pulled up, mum's dog started barking and someone who sounded suspiciously like my brother said 'Hey!' in response. He's due to arrive for the party any minute now so I thought it might have been him and had a peek out of the lounge room window to be sure. Instead, what I get is a clear view of the next door neighbour's front porch where her (possibly very drunk) boyfriend is swaying back and forth as he tries to maneuver the key into the lock.

Oh dear, been there, done that, still surprised I didn't just give up and go to sleep on the doormat.
