I deposited my tax cheque today. My bank account has suddenly gone from having just $64.00 in it to over $2600!

That's a bit scary.

But $900 of it is going toward paying off my credit card, and the remaining $1600 will be made up to $2000 with what I have in my other account and placed in a term deposit for at least 6 months if not longer.

I suddenly feel all grown up with all this sensible money handling. I wonder how long it will last?

Hurrah for money. You never know how much you liked it till you don't have any any more ...

A similar thing happened to me. I found an extra $3000 in my account in late May, so I made them check my account. Apparently the government gives you money for having a baby!

Self-education is great for the tax return, but it all comes to an end when I finsih my course. That's why I'm putting the bul of it away so I can feel like I've achieved something with it.
