bitch please

You see, here's the thing.

I live in a nice, quiet block of flats with nice, quiet neighbours who don't play loudly obnoxious music late at night or do burn-outs in the drive way early in the morning. We all respect each other's need for peace and general it works just fine.

Except for last night when next door neighbour guy (NDNG) decided that he and his guest had to have a loud, rambling and, I suspect, slightly drunk conversation until TWO FUCKING AM IN THE MORNING!

What NDNG failed realise, I think, was that my bedroom wall backs onto his living room and that like most blocks of flats of a certain vintage, the walls are somewhat thin. Therefore a private conversation is really not that private at all when your neighbour can hear every word spoken through their bedroom wall.

I banged on the wall a couple of times, but he either ignored me or thought it was possums playing on the fence outside. Finally I gave up and pulled out the earplugs, but I hate wearing earplugs to bed because they make my heart beat seem so LOUD.

So I couldn't sleep, and I couldn't sleep, and the ear plugs were annoying, and what's a guy who usually goes to work at 7.30am doing up until TWO FUCKING AM IN THE MORNING on a work night?

They eventually went to bed, but not before I had images on myself stomping next door in my pyjamas to demand silence.

I empathise completely. We have a neighbour who starts his karaoke machine in the garage, 15m away from our bedroom window, at around 9pm most nights. It's loud. He is Vietnamese. With very poor english. And tone deaf. MoTH is a professionally trained singer, so it drives him nuts. Fortunately, he doesn't 'sing' any tunes we are familiar with..... :0)

(and the spell check wants to 'americanise' my spelling. :P )

He probably thinks he's not disturbing people by doing his karaoke in the garage. And bad karaoke is a truly awful thing to listen to.

I hate the way the spell check refuses to acknowledge those of us who live in countries other than the USA. And your icon is very appropriate.

The people who used to live in the unit that shares my bedroom wall used to play his guitar at like 2am. Very badly. At one point, I think he was having an argument with his girlfriend at 4am... you just hear this whole lot of cursing coming from their place.

Then there was the downstairs neighbour, there was one time [livejournal.com profile] furi__kuri heard distinct moaning from their bedroom. We sat and listened, and theorised that they were watching porn.

The other neighbour downstairs, sometimes he'd have people over and they'd have their own band jamming session going on. I don't mind them cos they're actually GOOD. As a matter of fact, sometimes I just mute the TV and listen to them play. :)

I have done the stomping next door in my pyjamas thing. I did have the flu, so possibly was delerious at the time. They were very apologetic, and perhaps a little frightened. *g*
