I can't wait for Brokeback Mountain to be released over here. I re-read the story today and pimped it to A by faxing it to him at work, and he too has suddenly developed an obsession with gay cowboys in love who look like Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall.

And to help share the love I've posted the trailer to yousendit. It'll be there for about a week if you want to revel in the cowboy love.

No idea. Australia doesn't have a releae date listed in IMDB, but I can't see them not screening it over here, even if it's only shown in art house cinemas. Heath Ledger is one of our own after all.

Not to put a damper on things, but I hope anyone who sees this movie has read the story first. I mean, I love the idea and liked the story until it got to the end and I can't imagine that they changed it for the movie. Write if you want spoilers...

I've read the story several times so I know how it ends. I quite like the ending. It's sad, but I think it fits nicely with the overall theme of the story; that happy endings aren't always possible and sometimes you just have to take what happiness you can get.

I personally hated the ending. I mean, I know there can't always be happy endings, but it'd be nice if a gay film had one from time to time. Just wanted people to know what they were getting into before they went into the theater.
