I'm almost too afraid to mention it in case it turns out to be a dream, but I think the Hard Core Saga might be nearing an end thanks to the magikal powers of eBay.

Having received yet another set-back email from chapters.ca, I was trawling around Saturday night hoping against hope and voila! There one was, available from a Canadian dealer who does ship to Australia. So I do the clicky 'Buy Now!' thing and drag out my credit card. Then of course there is the waiting game to see if the payment went through. Apparently it did because I received this email today:

Thank you very much for your super fast payment for the Hard Core Logo DVD. I will be packaging the DVD shortly and it will be sent in the mail at the start of the week. Hopefully it will arrive quickly. If you ever have any further questions about this transaction, please do let me know.

In a burst of enthusiasm I have now cancelled my orders at Chapters and DVDSoon, but I'm keeping the amazon.ca one open just for the principle of the thing. If I end up with another copy, so be it, but either they give me the DVD or they admit defeat and cancel the order. I am not doing their dirty work for them.

It is the hard core version, isn't it? I don't want you to get your hopes up!

It is the hard core version, and I'm definitely not getting my hopes up.

Excellent! I'd hate for it to be easy and then for it to be the wrong one.

My fingers are crossed for you.

If it turns out to the wrong one, you'll probably hear me screaming in Sydney!

Yay! I'm glad you have given the others the flick. But tell them why they are losing your business. Sometimes hitting them on the bottom line gets their attention......Just saying.....

p.s. I need to return some things to you. Watch for an email today. Possibly.

I just got over them faffing me around. A girl can only take so much!

I'm free Wednesday morning as usual if you want to catch up. Email me and we'll work something out.

You know, when all this is over, you should write it up as a film treatment. It's got all the makings of an epic blockbuster movie - the first act setup, the second act complications, the unexpected twist, the brave and beautiful heroine, the evil and demented villains, the final resolution, the (we all hope) triumph over overwhelming odds.

One suggestion: instead of through eBay (or however), in the film you should get HCL because of a really hot guy. And then the two of you should kiss. Or maybe have tasteful sex, if you're okay with an R rating.

Actually, it'd work as a film treatment if, instead of a DVD, it was a new heart. And you had a cute blond three-year-old moppet with shaggy hair and those square National Health glasses. Or better yet, if it was his heart. But the cute guy would have to be the donor. Oh noes! So your joy is tinged by the bitterness of tragedy!

This is a good film. I would pay to see it. If someone I fancied played the cute guy. Sorry, Josh. Dead again.

Er ... excellent news on the DVD! I just hope it actually turns up this time.

I'm not sure I'd want to share the spotlight with the blonde moppet. However if it had a brave and resourceful dog and a smart-alek cat that talked, I'm there!

Oh, I'm okay with an R rating. And the tasteful sex would be a given if the hot guy was played by CKR, whose character would be an amalgum of RayK, Johnny Johansson, Duck MacDonald, with a touch of Billy Tallent thrown in for interest.
