Have just been to see Night Watch. A very out-there movie if ever there was one. Made even more so by the fact that it's Russian. But quite enjoyable nonetheless. I think there's a sequel or two on the way. There had better be from the way it ended. All that set up and no resolve does not a happy movie goer make.

So, I'm off to the old home town tomorrow, and judging by the many messages from various relatives that were on my answering machine when I got home I'm possibly giving my cousin a lift. But I'm not sure if she's expecting to go with me or not, so I'm going to have to get up extra early to call her just in case she is counting on me for a lift. Gah, I wanted a bit of a sleep in. I guess there really is no rest for the semi-good.

ETA: Thanks to the magikal powers of imdb.com, I have now found out that there are in fact two sequels to Night Watch, the first one due out in January, with the next following sometime in 2007.

It's a very different movie isn't it? I wanted to read the books the movies are based on but it looks like they've never been translated from Russian.

I'll ask my Russian pal about them when he gets comes back to Australia next month. He might know if they've been translated or not.
