They Say What They Say

At last the time has come upon us. Yes, it's Son of Sports Night Chat this weekend! Herewith the instructions which, actually, you've all seen before, but bear repeating. But most importantly it gives you information on how to get into the chatroom so please read carefully!

The Schedule
Because we're all living in different time zones, the world has been divided into thirds. Therefore our starting time will be 3pm Melbourne, 6am London, and 12am Chicago time. You can work out what time that will be where you live here, but roughly:

3pm Melbourne = 6am London; 12am Chicago.

The chatroom will stay open until the last person logs off.

What We'll Be watching
We're starting from where we left off, that is the last two discs of season two starting with A Girl Named Pixley.

The way this works is:
1. Everyone starts their DVDs/AVIs!
2. PAUSE at timestamp 00:00 (because different copies have different lead-time, and we all want to start together).
3. One person in the chat does the countdown: THREE, TWO, ONE, PLAY!
4. Everyone presses PLAY at the same time and watches together and squee all over the chatroom!

Joining the Chatroom
The chat will take place in an AIM chatroom managed through Trillian. Trillian is a program that manages AIM, Y!M, ICQ, MSN, etc. You can download it for free and you do not need AOL Instant Messenger itself if you have Trillian. You will need an AIM username, but you can set that up when you get Trillian.

Before the Chat Room Opens
Please put your name on the "I Need an Invite!" list by commenting below with your AIM username. This will be the list of people we'll be speedily inviting into the chatroom as we get things rolling. If you're away from your computer when we invite you in, don't worry! Just follow along with the next steps.

If the Chat Has Begun and You're Not Using Trillian...
Please send an IM directly to me or catwalksalone with an "Invite me in please!" request. (Please note that we are in different time zones and may or may not be attempting to stay up all night to keep an eye on things. If you don't get an immediate reply, try IM-ing someone who has left a comment below!)

If the Chat Has Begun and You're Using Trillian...
If you are using Trillian, left click on the yellow dot and and choose 'Join a Chatroom'. Type sportsnightchat and it should let you in. If it doesn't, IM me or catwalksalone and we will invite you in.

A Word of Warning and Some Rules
Some of the participants in this chat session will be slashers, which means they will be speculating on and/or discussing the homoerotic vibes between Dan and Casey. Others will be Casey/Dana or Jeremy/Natalie shippers, while others will not understand why Isaac and Kim never got it together. That's fine because we all have our individual likes and dislikes.

However, as organiser and moderator, what I want to see is everyone respecting each other's opinion. If you find yourself not agreeing with something someone has said, feel free to respectively disagree but do not start a flame war or make disparaging or hurtful remarks simply because you don't think along similar terms. We're all adults who are out for some fun with a favourite fandom. If you can't say something nice or respectful, please say nothing at all. Those are the rules and I expect you to abide by them.
