I never thought I'd say this, but I'm a bit over fandom at the moment. Please help me out by telling me why this shouldn't be so, and/or by reccing me something that will help me get past this nadir.

Aw. I tend to go do something else for awhile, or go play with meta or vids or stuff. :(
Um - layout of RayK's appartment.
Lovely gen ensemble dS vid to Dolly Parton's 9-5. Genius!
Or just take a holiday. The squee will return eventually. *hugs*

RayK's appartment plan is great! It's great being able to match what I think it looks like in my head to an actual picture.

Burnt out from the chat, I expect. People do grow out of fandom, sometimes it just happens. Or something new and shiny might come along tomorrow, you never know.

It's probably just burn out from the chat. I don't think I'll ever truly grow out of fandom, but I'm not feeling terribly excited about it at the moment. Also I'm been sleeping rather badly this week and I'm very tired. Probably what I really need is a good nights' rest and I'll be fine.

You may just need a break. It happens with lots of stuff especially if there's other things going on in real life that are big. Remember the saying, "never say never" cause its so true.

I have been feeling a bit washed out this week so I probably do need a break. All the squee at the SN chat on the weekend really took it out of me!

I play WoW (World of Warcraft) which is an online game, and I have found when I do marathon weekend sessions I tend to not want to touch the thing for a while.

So, take a break. Relax and enjoy life. It will be here when you're ready.

I go through waves. In 1998, 1999, 2003, 2004 and the first part of 2005 I read fanfic in every spare moment. In 2000 and 2001 I hardly looked at fandom at all.

I haven't had a real obsessive phase since early last year and I kind of miss it, but I'm too busy to have one right now anyway. No doubt one will strike again one of these days!

Aw. *hugs*
I've just come out of a period in which I pretty much just read the individual user journals on my flist, and had little interest in seeking out fic. I don't know why it started, and I don't know why it ended, but be reassured that you're not alone in feeling like this, and it will resolve itself.

Like [livejournal.com profile] phoebesmum said, I think you're probably a bit exhausted after the chat.

I know after the chat, I felt a bit depressed that SN isn't on any more. I do like Studio 60, but it's just not the same. In fact, so far, there hasn't been any new show I've been excited about (although The Nine does look promising, and I'll be watching it tonight.)

I don't think I could rec you something that you haven't already read. ;-)

I'm with everyone else on the whole burnt out post chat thing. It's fantastic to spend all that time squeeing with like minded people, but then you stop and it's back to RL and where have all the people gone? Just makes you. Flat.

Writing my drabble helped me get over it a bit.

If you do nothing else for now, you can just keep checking out [livejournal.com profile] minisn for a big dose of SN cute.

There's [livejournal.com profile] scriggle's picspam to drool over and [livejournal.com profile] ds_recsredux is bound to throw up some interesting bits and pieces you've never seen before.

You love the shows, you love the hot men, you love the people who love the shows and hot men and also, where do you get such good porn in real life? Women's erotica doesn't come close to some of the fic you get in fandom.

You'll get your groove back, wait and see.
