I'm not [livejournal.com profile] slashybits, so I don't know if I have any right replying to this, but seeing as how you mentioned the home town, I've been meaning to ask somewhere whether your family are anywhere near the fires up there in country Victoria?? I hope they're alright.

There have been fires in their area, but the current front is east of Melbourne, and they're west. It's all very worrying, though. I feel so sorry for the people whose houses and land is in the direct path of the fire.

I hope your family stay safe then. It is very very scary! And it just seems to be getting worse. They say that, even if they get the majority of the front extinguished, there are likely to be little fires still burning until the end of summer:-(
