two parties and a pink flamingo

I have emerged triumphant from the essay that ate my brain. It came in at 4600+ words and I'm not sure that all my references made it into the bibliography, however I've handed it in now and there's no going back. It's the second last big essay I have to write for this thing and now that's its done I'm on the slippery slope to being graduated!

Meanwhile, my day ended with a trip to two separate supermarkets just so I could get all my shopping done, and I accidentally let the water in my steamer boil dry which gave my steamed vegies a very unappetising flavour so I tossed them because they really did taste horrible. I have school tomorrow and I left all my course notes sitting on my desk at work, and I also left my car unlocked all day. I'm just glad I didn't leave my laptop in the car. It's bad enough that I would have lost my good suit had some enterprising car thief noticed my faux pas.

I've been up since six, having stayed an extra night in the old home town and driving home this morning. I know there are people who live there and commute to Melbourne every day, but honestly it'd drive me insane to have to spend that much time in a car everyday.

Do you think it'd be silly to give up a perfectly good job to make and sell rag dolls? My niece was given one for her birthday yesterday. The damn thing cost nearly $100 and it was made in the Philippines! It's a very nice doll, although nothing special, and my sister's friend and I then decided that we could do better and sell them on commission. It's worth a thought and it'd give me something to do with the bag of fabric scraps I've got sitting in the bottom of my sewing box.

I have two parties and a dinner to go to this weekend. Where did this social life suddenly come from?

I'm very scattered tonight. Can you tell?

Okay, I'm going to watch a bit more West Wing then I think going to bed might be a good idea.

Do it as a sideline! I think it's a great idea to have a second income-producing activity, and you never know when something might take off.

I'm an hour and a quarter out of Perth, more at peak hour, and it is exhausting and an enormous waste of time to travel that far for work. Highly not recommended! Fortunately I don't have to do it every single day.

I don't think anyone except Matel makes money out of making dolls. Also, Id get pretty bored after a while. But as a sideline it'd be fun!

If it helps, I have twice left my keys in the ignition of an unlocked car, once in a not particularly salubrious area. And it was still there when I came back. Either people are more honest than I give them credit for, or bloody unobservant.

Yay! for essay finishing. *pats you on the back*

I did lock the passenger side door when I put the parking ticket on the dashboard. At least that's something 0_0
