i can haz nu bed!

It's so very exciting. I've gone from this:

I had to move my room around a little to fit it in, and reposition the bed against the wall which was fun. My old bed was on casters. This one isn't.

Meh.

Anyway, now I'm thinking that I'd like to get a new bedside table because my old one doesn't quite go with the bed any more. Or maybe I'll just paint it a deep antique white gloss or something. I'll think about it anyway. However I can't wait to test out the new mattress tonight, and of course with all the extra room under the bed there's more space to store the important things in life:

Yay (again)! That is a very smart bed indeed. And underbed storage is so important. Actually, all I have under mine most of the time is cats. And a biro, I think, that they ran off with, but it's the principle that matters here. I hope it's comfy!

I'm about to go to bed so the comfort factor will be tested very soon.

My flat is so small I need fully utilise any storage space I have. I'm thinking of going to Ikea on the weekend to look for some underbed storage solutions so I can keep my sheets and towels under there as well as a few more pairs of shoes.

(Does it surprise you when I say that that is not the extent of the shoe collection? I thought not.)

Oh, shiny.

I need to get a bed frame, I have a nice mattress but it slides around on its casters on my hardwood floor.

Also, I need a bed with under bed storage, storage space here is seriously lacking.

I used to have that problem with old!bed in the house I lived in that had polished boards. In the end I got a large piece of carpet to lay under the bed and it stopped in sliding around so much.

storage space here is seriously lacking.

You flat sounds like mine. My storage is practically nonexistent and what little I do have is at capacity. And yet there are so many shoes to buy!

Earlier today I had this idea of having a trundle or something made so I can store all my shoes under the bed. I could organise them by colour or frequency of use or something.

That is a lovely bed. When I got my new mattress, I didn't want to leave and, looking out the window, I don't want to leave it now.

When I saw the bed in the shop window I knew I just had to buy it. It called to me, it did. I just wish I could spend the rest of my life in it ;~)

I always wanted a frame like that and now I have one! I just wish my room were a little bigger because it really doesn't do the bed justice having to push it up against the wall like that.
