Am a bit annoyed with channel nein for replacing Fringe with that new Simon Baker show without warning and without telling us if it will be returning any time soon. I got out of bed specifically to watch it and was very peeved to find that it had vanished. It's typical of Australian TV programmers, though. They give a new show barely any time to establish its self, and if it doesn't have huge ratings after a couple of weeks they pull it for yet another repeat of Two and a Half Men or the latest Gordon Ramsey swear-fest. Meh, no wonder Australians are among the biggest illegal downloaders of TV in the world.

Was Fringe any good? I have the first couple of eps but haven't watched it yet. I did watched Mentalist and it's rather interesting... though I don't think the female lead is that convincing as "Boss". Maybe I just associate Gibbs with that term.

*shrug*

I was enjoying it. I had no idea what was going on half the time, but it was holding my interest which is more than most of the dross currently airing has done.

I watched I think... 3 to 4 eps so far. It's... jury's still out. It's a bit like X-Files come to think of it.

I love The Mentalist and dislike Fringe so it would make me go all \o/ but if someone likes it the other way around, it must suck :(

It does suck. There's so little on TV that holds my interest these days that when I do find something I enjoy I'd like to be able to watch in on a regular basis and not have to wait until it comes out on DVD :~(

And the way all stations are advertising, 'Fast-tracked from the U.S.'? Pure bs when I've already seen the first five eps of Heroes S3. Fast-tracked my arse!

(Nice bed, btw ;) )

Well, compared to how crap it used to be, it's at warp speed, I guess.

And I would people avoiding spoilers contributes to a lot of our downloading.

Warp speed, yes, but you still can't trust them to let a show build an audience before they send it to Coventry. At least I still have Supernatural.

*sigh*

Indeed. Shows are like yoyos.

The networks are being decimated by everyone downloading shows and they know it. They think they're being cleaver but really they're not. Either way they suck.

(Thanks!)

I know! You can't trust them to keep anything. :(

And nine is a particularly violent offender in this regard. Just look at how they treated The West Wing, and they only just screened the final episode of Gilmore Girls, nearly two years after it originally aired!

Well, that sucks.

We're still watching Fringe; I'm not sure why I'm okay with that, when I couldn't deal with - oh, I've forgotten its name, some other doomsday-type science show that I watched some episodes of the other week. It may be Dr Denethor, who usually manages to brighten up the dialogue. Pacey, so far, hasn't seemed to do very much for a lead character. I await developments.

There's so little that catches my attention these days. I've seen all of the most recent Doctor Who and Torchwood, Supernatural is still going, thank god, and I quite like NCIS and Criminal Minds, but I was really enjoying fringe and they took it away from me. Don't they realise my intertubes connection is too slow for downloads???
