If I've been rather quiet of late, this is because I've just returned from a long weekend in Queensland and I have had no intertubes access since last Thursday. Queensland was bright and warm and sunny, while Melbourne is gray and chilly and overcast. I am strangely happy to be home.
But I had a wonderful four days at R's house, eating, sleeping, reading, playing with her baby and venturing out to the odd cafe to eat some more. It's nice to do nothing for a change, and nothing I did. I had no desire to rush about being a holiday maker and my raison d'ĂȘtre for going up there is the first place was to see R for the first time in two years and to meet her new babay, who isn't so new anymore since she's ten months old.
And I'm not even going to talk about how my trip nearly got cancelled because I managed to lock myself out of the house on the morning of my departure, and how I couldn't take another another flight if I didn't make it to the airport in time because my stupid cheap e-ticket disallowed transfers or refunds. And I won't even mention how, after I got my keys back and broke many, many road rules on my way to the airport, my flight ended up being delayed for an hour and a half! No, I'm not going to talk about it at all.
I am five days behind on my flist and see no hope of catching up.
*hugs you all*

I'm glad you enjoyed your break and had a nice, peaceful time. What are your plans for Christmas.
Oh, I want to ask you a favour, but I'll email you about that.

In other news, your Christmas card arrived! Thanks!

Just remember that your trip out makes a great story, and later, that's what we remember: the good stories. So even though it was really annoying to live through, you can still get enjoyment out of it by regaling people with you travails at a later date.
