mother update

You'll be pleased to learn that Mum is out of hospital and will be staying in a convalescent centre for a couple of weeks. I rang her today to see how she's going and she sounds so much better than she did a week ago. She was bitching about having to share bathroom with one of the other residents and the fact that there's no tea and coffee making facilities in her room, both of which prove she's on the road to recovery. If she has the energy to complain about something she's definitely feeling better.

Of course what my sister and I both hope is that, shared bathrooms aside, she'll enjoy it enough to start considering the possibility of a retirement village. however she won't go anywhere without the dog so we'll have find one that allows pets which may not be that easy. I know they're around, it's just a matter of finding one that a) suits her needs, and b) one we can afford if she does agree to it.

Once again thank you to everyone who has shown their support during this trying time. You have no idea how much I really appreciate it.

{{{{{hugs you all tight}}}}}

It is good news. And I'm just so glad that she's letting herself be looked after. For a little while at least.

I think that's a mum thing - they spend so much of their life looking after others that they find it hard to let themselves be looked after by someone else. My mum is the same.

I'm glad she's doing well. Fingers crossed that she'll enjoy the rest of her stay.

That's what we're hoping.

My mother insisted that she enjoyed her hospital stay (during the course of which she stayed determinedly in her room and spoke to no-one) because it was 'such a nice holiday'. *sigh*

I'm glad your mum's better and, dammit, I would complain if I didn't have somewhere to make my coffee too!

Glad to hear she's doing better--bitching is a good sign! Here's to her continued recovery.
