Dear certain elements of fandom who seem intent on ruining the fun for everyone else,

Just stop it, okay? Not only is your behaviour childish and immature, just lately it has tipped over into thoughtlessly malicious and that is just not on. My advice to you is, if you can't play nicely please don't play at all. And no, we really won't mind if you pack up your toys and go home.

Sadly, I dunno if it's thoughtlessly malicious, or intentionally malicious. Or maybe you're talking about something else, in which case there's even more wank happening. Sigh.
