donating

I just made an appointment to give blood. I've never given blood in my life but I've always thought that I should and right now it's more important than ever to do so. If you're in Australia and you want to make an appointment to donate, you can register online with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

I haven't heard from the red cross yet. I'm guessing they're so seriously overwhelmed at the moment that it might take a while to get back to me.

I haven't donated in a while but will do so tomorrow. My heart just breaks for all the loss.

Apparently the Red Cross has been inundated with people wanting to donate so it might be a few days before I get an appointment. Every little thing and all that. I just wish there was more I could do.

I don't know if this applies to you, but I was really nervous before I donated blood the first time, and I'm pleased to say it really doesn't hurt. The anticipation is far worse.

Since they're so overwhelmed atm, I'm going to wait and donate later rather than struggle for an appointment now.
