I don't think I've mentioned it here, but Ive gone and got myself a Tumblr account: laylee-jones.tumblr.com/

I mostly use it to indulge in my current obsession with all thing related to the Avengers movieverse, but there's other bits and pieces there as well. Shoes are a given, as are pretty frocks and cute boys, but I'm also post the odd snippet of fic there as well. Please feel free to drop by if you are so inclined.

So: can I ask a dumb question? Tumblr, can you help explain it to me, in a fannish sense? I mean, I get the general blogging sense, but as far as fandom goes, do you just follow other people and read their tumblrs? Maybe it's because I don't have an account yet that I'm confused. It seems like a lot of folks in fandom are moving from LJ to tumblr, maybe because images are easier?

(Holy cow, that's a lot of question marks, and not all of them are punctuating actual grammatically correct questions. Sorry.)

I'm not entirely sure that I can explain Tumblr. I'm only just wrapping my own head around it. I think it's more like a stream of consciousness than anything else. People post (mostly) pictures and snippets of text when the mood strikes them rather than contribute in the more deliberate way they would to something like DW or LJ. It certainly is a good source for pretty pictures of all out current TV boyfriends and I'm finding it useful for garnering inspiration for writing. But mostly I'm there for the pretty pictures. Mostly *g*

Thanks! I am starting to get that vibe, that of the pictures and just the 'ooh pretty'. Definitely a different approach but it could be fun. (It seems like with the rise of the AO3 a static presence on DW/LJ is less necessary, because fic can go to the AO3 and everything else can be less formal and archivable.)
